Technical Writing E-Portfolio
In this writing e-portfolio, I have included my internet resource guide, technical description, and instruction set projects.- Internet Resource Guide (Link) - a resource guide for first-year and change of campus/major students in the College of IST (Grade: 100)
- Technical Description (Link) - a product description of the Nintendo 2DS, marketed towards children and their parents (Grade: 100)
- Instruction Set (Link) - an instruction set that features background information and a full recipe (and pictures) for kimchi fried rice (Grade: 100)
From these three (3) assignments, I learned what I consider to be the most important aspect of technical writing: writing in a way that effectively addresses your specific audience.
The reason for including these projects is that, personally, they addressed my particular audiences the best out of all my assignments done for my Technical Writing course. In all three (3) projects, I made it a task to identify my audiences and to consider their characteristics before even drafting any of the projects. I looked up examples for each of them and studied how other written and digital documents catered specifically to these audiences. I adopted some of these tactics and applied them to these projects.
